                                  Shopping for Happiness

Although society convinces us that happiness is something that can be purchased,
it actually isn't. That's an artificial happiness. Real happiness is what you feel on the inside without all of those high priced items. The woman in this painting is a victom of that idea and suffers from obesity and finds herself as an outsider. Her solution to becoming a happy person was to spend her entire paycheck on trendy mall items. She figured that if you dress in a certain way, and have a certain look, you will get treated in a certain manner. Even though she appears as a fool from her new taste in clothing, she feels a sense of artificial happiness on the inside. Unfortunately, most people in our modern society live this way. Do you really know what makes you happy?
