This is a portrait of a hard working - dishonest used school supply salesman at a local swapmeet. I met this guy back in 1990. He actually had a twin brother that worked with him. These two guys sold everything from broken rulers to old baseball cards. They had a booming business! I believe that I purchased a couple of Pee-Chee folders from them. I created this piece with the intent to show all of the vendors that I encountered. I guess that you can say that I had to put the series on hold. This illustration was painted on a stucco-like gesso surfaced illustration board. I used acrylics to paint it.
